Mo-Birders -

Dave Pierce and I were among those lucky folks that got to participate in
this wonderful viewing of the SEOWs yesterday afternoon. If anyone is
interested, I have some photos of the Owls on my web site:
http://david.faintich.com/

I apologize for the Owl photos not being that great (because 1. Amateur
photographer, 2. Owls on the ground were pretty far away, 3. Owl in the tree
was taken at about 5:40-5:45pm and I had to take them at 400 ISO and 1/100th
sec to get any light at all - excuses, excuses). However, I think you can
tell they are SEOWs.

In additional to birding at Peabody, Dave & I birded from about 2:00pm at
Horseshoe Lake and Frank Holten State Park before arriving at Peabody. Our
afternoon's list:

1. Rock Pigeon
2. Red-tailed Hawk
3. American Kestrel
4. Mallard
5. Northern Shoveler

Ten observers, 37 owls rising up about 4:30 pm. What a sight!
