The birding was superb at Riverlands yesterday (mid to late afternoon).
Species seen:

Canada Goose
Mallard
Northern Shoveler
Canvasback
Greater Scaup - 2
Lesser Scaup
Bufflehead
Common Goldeneye - 4
Hooded Merganser
Ruddy Duck
American White Pelican - hundreds
Pied-billed Grebe
Horned Grebe
Ring-billed Gull - thousands upon thousands
Herring Gull

Red-winged Blackbirds (flocks of males)

The pelicans were swimming in flocks on the river and scooping fish--it was
a fabulous show.
