On a quick trip to Weston Bend (Platte Co.) today (02.18.07) I found some bird activity. Bicycle trail: cooper's hawk feeding on a bird carcass, YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER (2), brown creeper, plus expected resident birds. Along the road to the overlook many birds on the roadside: 3 HERMIT THRUSHES (each one by itself), FOX SPARROW (1), white-throated sparrows. Bald eagles on the river (KS birds).
Near the junction of I29 and I435 south (S of Platte City) a light phase ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK.
Finally nice birding weather!
Later,

Peter Kondrashov
Maryville, MO
