Edge and I made a last minute run to see the Gyrfalcon reported in Boone
County IA. No luck... Had a fleeting glimpse of a very good candidate but
not enough look to call it.

We couldn't even find the near dead / dead carcass of a Gray Partridge even
though we were given EXACT directions to the spot! Supposed to be in the
middle of the road... Someone or someTHING must've beat us to it too!....

We did see a strange rabbit that could ran like the wind and did so in a
straight line (no zig zags...)

The length of the ears was about 6 inches. Note the size of the animal as
compared to the fence posts...

This guy did have a white (cotton-shaped) tail...???

He was in a ditch on the roadside... Temperature was 16 degrees with 35 mph
winds.
