This morning I did a quick turn around the Lake Contrary area south of Saint Joseph. Coming to an area feeder down by the lake there were Northern Cardinals, Dark-eyed Juncos, (an "Oregon" Junco), House Sparrows, Song Sparrows, Harris's Sparrows, Red-bellied Woodpeckers, White-breasted Nuthatch, American Goldfinches, House Finches, Common Grackles and Mourning Doves.

There were a lot of Northern Flickers in the area.

One adult Bald Eagle perched in a riverside tree.

Also I did see about five Eastern Bluebirds and a Carolina Wren, so I guess they are "holding their own" in spite of the spate of cold weather!

Great-tailed Grackles and Eurasian Collared-Doves continue to be seen at the Saint Joseph Stockyards.
