Hi Steve and Dianne:
We had one Harris Sparrow in the Bean Lake cabin yard today.

That's one of my favorite birds. Have a great memory of counting 35 of them several years ago foraging under an American Red Cedar tree, after a snow storm.
The snow didnt fall under the heavy tree boughs, and it's a place I always scatter seed on the ground, so guess they knew where to find a meal, even in bad weather.

I've always (lovingly) called them my 'junk-yard' bird due to the many colors they have...brown, tan, white, black, etc...just like a 'mixed' 'junk yard dog'.

Still have RC Kinglets and Yellow Rumps around. Plus 1 Rusty Blackbird. Total of 25 species in the BL cabin yard today.

I have enjoyed listening to Harris's Sparrows singing several times in the last few days around North Central Mo. Kind of an odd little song they have that I tend to forget from year to year. Their call note is unique also. Always neat when I realize I'm hearing HASP again.

Horned Larks have really been singing alot lately too. One of my favorite songs.
