I took a spin around Smithville Lake this afternoon. It was nearly empty of 
waterfowl. A couple of Common Loons were still there, as were 3-4 Forster's 
Terns, a few Bonaparte's Gulls and a sizeable raft of Franklin's Gulls. I 
could not find the Red-throated Loon. There are lots of cormorants on the 
lake.

I did see 3-4 Ospreys and a kettle of 30-35 White Pelicans. The only ducks 
that I saw on the lake were Ruddy Ducks. The only grebes that I saw were 
Pied-billed..
