That's Squaw Creek NWR and not Sqauw Creek!

Larry Lade <[log in to unmask]> wrote: While birding at the Sqauw Creek National Wildlife Refuge this morning with Steve Kinder and Gray Grantham (a friend from San Diego, CA) we observed what appeared to be an adult LAUGHING GULL transitioning into winter plumage. The bird was medium size (just about the same size as some nearby Ring-billed Gulls) quite a bit larger than the nearby Franklin's Gulls. It had a dark upper wing and mantle and all dark wing tips showing no white "mirrors" in the tips. The tail was entirely white. The bird was observed from the observation tower at the end of the walk in area in Eagle Pool.

In addition to these gulls, there was a Forster's Tern and three Black Terns in the same general area.
