Went to the gate from 9:30-10:30 on 09/01 and did not see the kite.  Saw a couple of Hummers, Great Blue Heron, and Swifts, but not much else.  If was very cool and overcast.
   
  As mentioned before if you park at the gate, be very careful when leaving as the drivers on highway D must be some of the worst in Missouri.  No problem on the way out, but had someone on the way in started to pass me in a no passing zone with a car coming the other way less than ten seconds before we crossed.  I never had a problem on that road before, but my two visits to see the kite from the gate have each included a very dangerous driver.  Perhaps a weekday thing since I normally would be on the road during weekends.
