Randy Cartwright and I birded the bike trail at Weston Bend (north of Kansas City) 9:30-12 today. We hit a few pockets of mixed flocks - highlights being Bay-breasted Warbler for me and a few lifers for him. There were a lot of vireos out. We missed identifying a lot of birds because they were either too high or the foliage was too thick for good viewing. Highlights: Broad-winged Hawk - 1 Eastern Wood-Pewee - 2 empid sp - 3 White-eyed Vireo - 1 Yellow-throated Vireo - a few Red-eyed Vireo - lots Blue-headed Vireo - 1 Golden-winged Warbler - 1 male Chestnut-sided Warbler - 2 females Blackburnian Warbler - 1 female Bay-breasted Warbler - 1 female Black-and-White Warbler - 1 American Redstart - 1 pair Summer Tanager - 1 Rose-breasted Grosbeak - 2 females + 1 1st winter male Jennifer Reidy Liberty, Clay County __________________________________________________ ########################################################### * Audubon Society of Missouri's * * Wild Bird Discussion Forum * *---------------------------------------------------------* * To subscribe or unsubscribe, click here: * * https://po.missouri.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mobirds-l&A=1 * *---------------------------------------------------------* * To access the list archives, click here: * * http://po.missouri.edu/archives/mobirds-l.html * * * * To access the Audubon Society of Missouri Web * * Site: http://mobirds.org * ###########################################################
