The Swallow-tailed kite continues!
Checked on the kite and Jo Ann Eldridge and her group had it at the "magic
gate" about 9:30 AM or so.
Then it flew east to parts unknown by me and them at the time.

If you procrastinators want to see it, better get there soon.
"The Birds of North America Online" says that there are few individuals and
no communal roosts in Florida by mid-Sept.

Re: age
Initial impression was of a juvie, but let myself be swayed to think adult.
After the close-up pictures, thinking juvie again.
Any other thoughts about age and why?

Guess it's time to turn attention to passerines now and finding the no-show
Buffies in Linc Co.
(yes Scott Schuette had two Buff-breasted sandpipers earlier this month, but
think he was hallucinating or suffering heat stroke.)

Good birding,
Charlene Malone
St. Louis co.
