Hello Mobirders,

I had to head to IL this morning for some field work so I stopped by Riverlands (St. Charles County) for about an hour. Not a whole lot going on, but it appears as if fall shorebirds are trickling back in.

Teal Pond:
1 Least Sandpiper
2 Pectoral Sandpiper
1 GREATER WHITE FRONTED GOOSE; this bird appeared to be healthy. It was mixed in with the Canada Geese behind the gas station.

Ellis Bay:
Not a whole lot; 4 American White Pelicans; 2 Double-crested Cormorants, 2 Ring-billed Gulls and one Gull that I wish would have been much closer. It was an immature gull hanging out with a Ring-billed on the Least Tern island in Ellis Bay. Had an all dark bill, slightly smaller than the Ring-billed and browner over all with some kind of odd dark face//head pattern. No clue, it was just to darn far to really make it into anything in the morning light.

Lastly, note new e-mail address...
