The male Painted Bunting was seen around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Runge
Nature Center in Jefferson City. Take the Raccoon Run Trail past the fire tower
and past the pond. Before turning right, four of us saw the bird about 20
yards to our right in a tree on a bare branch. Two people at the bench where
the 2 trails meet were also able to observe the bird. Once the bird dropped
to the ground, we were unable to relocate him.

There was also a Blue Grosbeak singing in the same area.
