Many of you know that before CACHE was developed, we were inputting records of species that have been observed at the county level. This allows us to see what species are present in any given county during the year. To date, there are 14,146 records reported in the County Compiling area of the website. As of today, I have linked the two datasets together in a way that automatically updates the county information when someone adds data to CACHE... Example: You bird Ranacker CA in Pike County Missouri. You add your trip data into CACHE. The system looks at all the species you entered and if a species was observed in Ranacker that has not already been reported in the County Compiling area of the site, the system will ADD that species to the list of observed species for Pike County! In doing this, the number of records reported in the County Compiling area went from 14,146 to 29,300! To see what birds have been reported for any county, you can access the County Listing area via the Reports // Listing in the ASM menu. http://mobirds.org.
