Bo Koster and I birded Columbia Bottoms (St Louis County) this afternoon. Had some nice birds:

Upland sandpipers - 2
grasshopper sparrow - many
bobolinks - at least 50 males, several seen at close range
dickcissels - many

The uplands were in the field on the right just past the first small parking area past the big river access parking lot. We had to take the path out into the field to see them. Bobolinks were here as well as several other locations. Largest numbers were on the left (river side), before the road goes into the more wooded area.

At riverlands, had 9 willets, 3 dunlins, 1 dowitcher, many spotties, and yellowlegs. Also several caspian and forsters terns. Not much shorebird habitat now. The hunters pond had only a couple of shorebirds.
