Hard to say without seeing the picture. Could it be a first year male Orchard Oriole? How extensive is the black on the head? Is the upper or under side of the tail seen in the picture? The color of a birds tail when folded is often different above and below.

I have been recently sent a photo of a bird i cannot identify. Would like some help. It is oriole size and shape It is a yellow bird with a black head ,but no black on neck and has black wings with white wing bars. There is no black on the tail or anywhere else What do i have ? Another friend who lives in Lebanon has had 16 Rose Breasted Grosbeaks at there home. Some are male and some are female. Lester pannell
