Spent late morning/early afternoon at Eagle Bluffs (Boone Co.) with
Joyce Bathke, Clare Wheeler and Linda Childers.
What a pleasure to bird with people who can hear.

We began by walking a short distance on the River Trail. Kentucky
Warbler, Gray-cheeked and Swainson's Thrush, Rose-breasted Grosbeak.

A Yellow-billed Cuckoo flew in front of the car. FOY. Heard Eastern
Wood Pewee.

Dickcissels have arrived! None there at 5 p.m. yesterday, but dick
dick cisseling today. Heard and saw the first at the utility pole on
Star School Rd.

Saw a Peregrine Falcon (missing primary on left wing) fly, then catch
thermal--think it left the area. Probably with good reason, as most
species were greatly reduced in number today. Tim James said things
were hopping right after the rain, then exodus began.

At least one Northern Waterthrush was still at Pool 8.

We had 78 species and did not see a Red-tailed Hawk! Only one
Caspian Tern left, 3 Long-billed Dowitchers. The exhibitionist
Virginia Rail was still parading in the open very near the road just
up-channel from the lone willow where the Moorhen had been.

Full list on CACHE later.
