Hey Mobirders,

Chris Brown, Jim Malone and I headed up Hwy 79 this morning hoping to hear/see some rails.... Not a whole lot of luck with rails, however we still had a few great birds. Here are the highlights:

  Clarence Cannon NWR (Pike County):
1 WHITE FACED IBIS, this bird was feeding at the edge of Big Pond. This is the pond at the very back of the refuge, south end.
3 UPLAND SANDPIPERS. These birds flushed out from a field on the left hand side of the road. The field is located about 1/2 way between the 90 turn and the gate that shuts off the refuge during the winter.
  2 American Bittern
  1 flyover Bank Swallow
  2-3 Northern Waterthrush
At least 1 Northern Harrier still hanging around

  Prairie Slough CA (Lincoln County):
  Displaying American Woodcocks
  1 Sora

  BK Leach CA (Lincoln County):
Grasshopper Sparrows calling all over the King's Lake Unit
  1 very cooperative Sora
  1 Lark Sparrow

Probably missing something..... There were a lot of good birds out today.
