My wife and I found an American Bittern at a pond on Buckeye Road in
central Jefferson County (24 April). That was a life bird for both of us
and the 160th species for Buckeye since we've been keeping track the last 3
years. That little pond has given us some nice sightings during that time,
but the habitat is going through steady decline.
