Want to thank Charlene for the tip off after she found ceruleans at
Castlewood SP yesterday!
An early morning sortie along the river trail at Castlewood SP produced 3
cerulean warblers
Ist one is on territory in the sycamores by the first parking lot after you
go under the train Tracks.A 2nd bird is down near the boat ramp parking lot
in the trees above the restroom and a 3rd bird was singing up the river trail
halfway between the boat ramp and where the river trail comes out into the
large field below the bluff line.
There was whipporwill vocalizing real early.Probably a migrating bird
since floodplain forest is very atypical habitat for whipporwills.
A few other new birds for me were blue-headed vireo, indigo bunting and
great crested flycatchers,yello warbler
