Made a brief visit to Little Creve Coeur Puddle (Once called Lake...then
Marsh...now Puddle?..). It's practically bone dry. Just a little water at
its southern edge about the width of a typical concrete pond (as Jed
Clampett called them). I was listening for possible rails, or Sora, or
Moorhen, but nothing doing. Not even a Coot. Did see a few Common Snipes at
the puddle, but that was it for waders. Perhaps we'll get some rain tonight
to help things out.
