Probably not true.  For one thing, the 'Shell Oil' press release has been
circulating for years.  Although gas station fires are sometimes initially
blamed on cell phones, investigations usually conclude that static
electricity or other causes are more likely.  Small consolation for those
who have been burned I suppose.
