The two adult Trumpeter Swans that nested in the area last year have been seen recently nearby. The male still has a red collar. They had two of the young ones with them but not the third. The last couple days I have received a report of another pair with red collars on a pond and yet another sighting of two with red collars that had one juvenile with them at a different location. All of these were seen in Livingston County. Could we possibly have more than one pair nest this year???!!!

Other good news is another good sized wetland being built on the East side of hyw 65 a few miles South of Chillicothe just past the Grand River. This is another private WRP [Wetland Reserve Program ] but looks like should have good visability from off the roadway.
There has also been additional land purchased NW of town that will be an addtion to the Thompson River WRP area.
Recently discovered another smaller WRP area just west of town.

Should be exciting when the dirt work is finished and hopefully plenty of rain someday to fill them all up. Build them and the birds will come!
