Monday, March 6, around 5:00 pm an Eurasian Collared Dove was feeding in our back yard. It was very cautious and didn't stay long. Since the wing tips were so light brown, I watched until I saw the gray with black undertail coverts. This morning for just a brief time, the ECDO was back but I think it was a different bird because the primaries were dark gray, blackish rather than brownish. This is the first time I have seen this species in or near Kearney, and it was a new yard bird for sure.
