I think the habit work being done at MDC areas is really neat for the most
part!

Ted Shanks is holding birds like never before and on the southwest third of
the loop, much wetland // mudflat work is being done...

I counted no less than 250 Wilson's Snipe today along a 1/4 mile stretch!!

Subject: Update on Eagle Bluffs

I emailed Tim James, MDC staff at Eagle Bluffs, today to acknowledge the
great work that is being done down there and give my appreciation for the
spectacular "bird show" this weekend. We teased that it looks like "Squaw
Creek East" at the moment. He responded with some interesting information
on preparations for shorebird season, which is just around the corner.

"To my knowledge, the area has not had the snow geese before like it does
now, pretty cool. We burned the wetland basins in pools 14 and 15 today to
provide open water/mudflats for the shorebirds later on. The hawks are
keying in on it right now looking for an easy meal.
Tim"

Wish I had time to run down there, but not in cards for this evening.
