As I pulled up on the gravel bar and got out of the car a beautiful adult Bald Eagle was cruising up the river, what a way to start off the new year. Meet up with Lynda Richards and we birded the old trout hatchery and spring feed lake area.

  American Crow. 24

  Yellow-rumped Warbler. 6
  Mourning Dove. 2
  Rock Pigeon. 5
  Carolina Wren, 25. (They were everywhere throughout the whole valley and calling)
  Winter Wren, 1 (Came out on a moss covered rock and just stood there, great look)
  Robin. 50
  Carolina Chickadee. 5
  Titmouse. 3
  Pine Siskin. 1
  Belted Kingfisher. 4
  Bluebird. 30
  Blue Jay, 3
  Cardinal, 8
  White Throated Sparrow. 2
  Fox Sparrow. 1
  Song Sparrow. 2
  Swamp Sparrow. 2
  Towhee. 1
  Junco. 6
  Gold Finch. 9

  Grackle. 5
   
  The beaver are starting to create some large pools thru the valley, you can see dams and of course fresh dropped trees everywhere.
