Parking rules, i.e. need a paid permit, may be enforced now that campus is
'open'. I would suggest parking on Couch Ave. which runs along the north
side of campus, and walk around the west end of the track to the usual area
the bird's been seen.

> A TOWNSEND’S SOLITAIRE was discovered by Anne McCormack on Friday,
> Dec. 30 on the campus of Meramec Community College in Kirkwood (St.
> Louis Co.). The bird was being seen through evening on Saturday, Dec.
> 31. To reach Meramec Community College (which is bordered by Couch
> Ave. on the west, Big Bend on the south, and Geyer Rd. on the east):
> From the Hwy 270/44 interchange, take 44 east and exit at Watson
> Rd. The first stoplight is Geyer Rd. Turn left (north); this will
> take you by the entrance to Powder Valley Nature Center. Keep going
> north to Big Bend. Turn left on Big Bend, then right on Couch. The
> bird has been seen around the quadrangle between the theater and the
> student center, as well as on the north side of the buildings near
> the parking lot.
>
> NOTE: to visitors, the college is really St. Louis Community
> College/Meramec Campus.
> Locals have a tendency to shorten things, therefore Meramec Community

> Most have been parking in the parking lot off of Couch Ave.. Walk down the

> Hope this helps.
