Not "tsk tsking" anybody about mis- iding broadwing hawks.
It really isnt that important to me if folk are seeing broad-wing hawks out
of season
Just trying to shed light on a common id problem
There are defintely certain misidentification mistakes that seem to pop up
every year. ie.Hermit thrush vs wood thrush/goshawk vs coopers, cape may vs
yellow rump etc etc
I know for a fact the"broadwing/red-shoulder" dilemma has been on mo birds
several times over the past years.Ecspecially in early spring.
