I stopped by Riverlands MBS At 3 p.m. Friday. I saw the short-eared owl
hunting the fields in front of Heron Pond and to either side of it from 3:30
to 4 p.m. Great looks in good daylight. Four owl species in one day. I was
happy.

Now I'm trying for as many over three days as I can get. I've got
long-eared, great horned, barred and short-eared. I'm going for snowy
Saturday near Kankakee and I might try for saw-whet and burrowing in
Illinois on Sunday.

Anybody got a screech or barn owl staked out in the St. Louis area? If so,
directions would be appreciated.
