A few of us birders checked out Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary this
morning and saw one of the adult Lesser Black-backed Gulls along the bottom
incline there on the concrete structure that juts out west from the locks
area that faces Riverlands Way, a little west of the Observation Tower.
Drove the Confluence Road and saw several Bald Eagles, N. Harriers, and
Horned Larks, but didn't locate any longspurs or buntings.

Met some folks who came across a Short-eared Owl about 5 PM, Dec 31, in the
field on the south side of Rivlerlands Way adjacent to the toilets.
