Gottfried Keller, Die Leute von Seldwyla, Call for Papers

Peter Lang have kindly agreed to publish a collection of papers on Gottfried Keller's Die Leute von Seldwyla to coincide with the 150th anniversary of the publication of volume one of this collection of Novellen. Contributions in either German or English are warmly invited. A provisional deadline for contributors is June 30th, 2006. While I do not wish to direct contributors to a very narrow selection of topics, articles of approximately 5000 words on the following themes would be appreciated:
Keller's pedagogy in Leute von Seldwyla.
Keller's presentation of women.
Novellenendungen oder andere Erzähltechniken.
Literary or philosophical influences on Keller in writing his Novellen.
Keller und der (Schweizer) Spieɿer.
Seldwyl als Spiegel der schweizerischen politischen Verhältnisse.
Presentations on other topics or the interpretation of individual Novellen are of course also welcome.
Please supply a synopsis of approximately 200 words by 15th February, either as an e- mail attachment or hard copy to H J Hahn, Department of Languages, Oxford Brookes University, Gipsy Lane, Headington, Oxford, OX3 0BP.
