With less than a month to go for the Cambio de Colores 2006 - Beyond Borders conference, some important information:
  1. The 2006 conference detailed program inow available in the website. This program is up to date and includes changes, additions, and cancellations. Some highlights:
    • Honor guests that will address the participants include Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon, the City of Columbia Mayor Darwin Hindman, University of Missouri President Floyd, and University of Missouri-Columbia's Chancellor Brady Deaton and Provost Brian Foster.
    • Plenary sessions include Missouri's Comissioner of Secondary and Elementary Education D. Kent King, Michele Waslin and Beatriz Ibarra of Washington, D.C. National Council of La Raza, health disparities researcher Michele Yehieli, from Iowa, community and leadership expert Ronelle Neperud from Kansas City, immigration scholar Anna Williams Shavers of Nebraska, and financial literacy experts María Aranda and Erika Ramírez of Kansas City.
    • There will be over 40 presentations and workshops that cover many relevant issues and go from best practices in the field to state-of-the-art research.
  2. Regarding this program, the following format changes have been effected, following the advice and suggestions of past participants:
    • After each plenary session, one of the breakouts will be dedicated to further discuss the plenary topics with the presenters
    • More time has been allotted to each presentation inside the breakout sessions
    • The third day of the conference includes now a Plenary and an additional block of breakout sessions
  3. Regular Registration is now open!  Please note that a late fee will be applied for registrations received after April 4th.
  4. Information for Exhibitors interested in Table Display spaces is also available - There are still some spaces available.
  5. Entertainment: Latin American Dance - There will be dance instruction, and then music and Latin dance for all. (Wednesday night, after dinner, through 10:00 P.M.)
  6. Sponsorship contributions are much needed.  Please check the Sponsors page for details. Sponsorship contributions start at $300 for small businesses.
