Hi Clint,

More likely a hermit thrush. The eye ring and spots are more distinct than
in the veery.

I have had a hermit thrush hanging out in my back yard this fall. He first
showed up to help the pileated woodpeckers and bluebirds clean the berries
off my dogwood tree and would drop down into the dense vinca underneath to
forage. After the dogwood was picked clean he has continued to show up,
giving me excellent views while perched on the dogwood just outside my
kitchen window. That dogwood has provided me with great entertainment. Every
time the pileateds showed up, there would be a small flock of flickers in
there company. I kept hoping for a flock of my favorite cedar waxwings, but
alas, they must have found something yummier than my dogwood berries.

Subject: Veery

Out on the forest working today and spotted a bird I identified as a Veery.
Then had second thoughts wondering is they are still moving through the
area. Has any one else recently seen a Veery?
