Here is treatment on the identification of Cackling vs. other small Canada 
geese.

I am not disputing the ID of some Cackling geese at Riverlands or elsewhere.
Jim M and I had some "discussions" about those birds ourselves yesterday.
(forgot to mention them in my post, but still not confident about my ID of 
some of the birds.)
Just putting out some helpful info for those going out in the field.
