Lunch hour birding yesterday, Dec. 1st, I went looking for a
Great Horned Owl and found an American Pipit!

There's a large old Buteo nest two miles north of Neosho on
Shoal Creek's "Scenic Drive." I keep thinking a GHO should
make a showing there. So I parked along the road to gawk at
the nest. At this location the road is bordered on either side by
pasture. No GHO but a single American Pipit was making it's
way along the ditch. Some bluebirds crossing the field but no
more pipits.

That's my first December American Pipit.

Good birding, Larry H. Joplin MO.
