1st pass
Lots of ducks to look through, but did NOT find the WW scoter or the LT
duck.
LOTS of shooting too.
one COMMON LOON

Went down Sandy Slough road and found SIX species of SHOREBIRDS:
one DUNLIN
one Dowitcher - and we are 95 - 99% sure it is a SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER -
yes we took pictures and took notes. We want to do a little reading in Ken
Kaufman.
~ 6 LEAST sandpipers
4 WILSON'S SNIPE
200+ (++?) Killdeer
4 GREATER YELLOWLEGS

Got some coffee and some lunch to warm up and came back to the Dam.
BTW, Ronocco coffee at the larger Winfield gas station is not bad.

2nd pass through.
one WHITE-WINGED SCOTER right off the bat in with the R-B mergs, but still
no LT duck for us.
fewer ducks with more shooting. The birds were moving around a lot.

Dave Rogles looked for the shorebirds and they were chased off by a
Peregrine falcon.
Don't remember if he saw the scoter or lt duck.

Nitie-nite,
Charlene Malone
St. Louis co.
