Mobirders,

Joe Eades wanted me to pass along the following sightings he had today, November 10, 2005......

Thomas Hill Reservoir-Randolph/Macon Counties:
1-female/juvenile BLACK SCOTER
3-female/juvenile WHITE-WINGED SCOTER
These birds were observed in a raft of ~1000 assorted waterfowl from the lookout at the end of County Road 1190. He also observed a few COMMON LOONS and did not see either of the Little Gulls today. However, they could still be around, he mentioned there to still be many Bonaparte's Gulls.

En route to St. Joseph he observed an Albino/Leucistic RED-TAILED HAWK perched. He said this bird was snowy white, with one brown primary in each wing. This bird was observed on the side of Hwy 36, ~5 miles west of Long Branch Lake.

Buchanon County-Mud Lake:
Joe tried to re-locate the Northern Shrike found earlier this week. He had no luck with the Shrike, but did observe a perched PRAIRIE FALCON along Crockett Road.

From there Joe headed to Smithville Lake, Clay County hoping for loons. There, he observed the 2-RED-THROATED LOONS posted by Kristi Mayo, from Little Platte. In addition he said there were 24 AMERICAN AVOCETS swimming around in the lake and 15-20 HORNED GREBES out on the lake.
