Dear all,
my partner, Martin Reid, and I are visiting my family
in central Missouri (Jefferson City and Columbia)over
Thanksgiving weekend. We will have a very limited time
to bird while there. I was not a birder while living
in Missouri years ago, so I am not very familar with
the distribution of birds that time of year (or any
time of year to be honest) There are a few species
that we have particular interest in; Trumpeter Swan,
Ruffed Grouse and Saw-whet Owl. Also, Martin is a
complete Larophile, so any spots for gulls in Central
MO would be appreciated. I dont think we can make it
to St Louis on this trip, so the Riverlands is out,
unless another Ross's Gull shows up! I know these
birds are probably long shots, but if you dont try...
