A good morning at Bradford on 10/22/05 from 8 am to noon with about 12
birders showing up to help with the surveys. Forty-three species with
the following birds of note.  3 Western Meadowlarks, 350 Savannah
Sparrows, 19 Le Conte's Sparrows, 1 Sharp-shinned Hawk, 1 Cooper's Hawk,
4 Marsh Wrens, 3 Lincoln's Sparrows, 28 Swamp Sparrows, 2 Northern
Harriers, 16 Mallards, 3 Northern Shovelers, 21 Gadwalls, 2 Pied-billed
Grebes, 5 Wilson's Snipe, 2 Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrows, 3 Northern
Bobwhite, 1 Eastern Phoebe, 5 Am Coots and lots of other sparrows,
crows, bluebirds etc. We searched for early short-eared but didn't see
them yet. Next month should be good for Shorteared, longspurs,
Rough-legged Hawks etc for those who would like to join us on our
monthly survey. All are welcome. THanks Mike for joining us from Rolla.
