The Ozark Rivers Audubon outing on Saturday, October 15 was great fun.
Louise, Rosemary, Lynda and I were so delighted to find so many birds at
Tanager Trails that the planned birding of Rolla City parks was set aside
and we spent the entire morning at TT!

The areas of cut cedar trees in the future oak savannah and prairie areas
was a white-throated sparrow haven; there were hundreds of them all around
us.

We searched most of the cleared area between the creek and the prairie/oak
savannah area, spent some time inside the oak savannah and prairie areas and
walked the fireline around the prairie.

The other birds we found between 7:30 and 10:15:

white-breasted nuthatch
carolina chickadee
tufted titmouse
eastern bluebird
american goldfinch
red-bellied woodpecker
yellow-bellied sapsucker
downy woodpecker
norther flicker
yellow-rumped warbler
golden-crowned kinglet
brown thrasher
gray catbird
hermit thrush
nashville warbler
field sparrow
white-throated sparrow
american crow
bluejay
american robin
carolina wren
eastern towhee
dark-eyed junco
