Although there have been several "punctuated" nighthawk movements observed
the last few weeks this evenings display I obsereved is the biggest I have
ever personally seen in MO.
In my neighborhood alone there are a conservative 200-300 plus birds flying
low around houses and trees!(some as low as eye level) There are so many and
are so low it has got the attention of several non birder neighbors with the
name "bullbat "being called out by a few!
Its good to see so many of these dudes migrating. They have become a VERY
rare nester around St Louis recently if not an already extirpated nesting bird

At Castlewood SP this evening didnt see any birds but did catch the last 2
feet of a BLUE RACER as it boogied away into the limestone
