I rarely play the tape for more than 10 minutes in one location.

It makes me cringe to think of playing a screech owl tape for 2 hours. . . I was birding Lake Perry as usual this weekend. Such a lovely time of year -- the graceful egrets, the ever increasing numbers of pelicans, the fun of searching a hundred ringbills to find a franklin, or various terns. Did see 4 kinds of warblers, blue grey gnatcatcher and red eye vireo for a migrant fix. Good birding all -- and silence in the woods is my favorite habitat. Pam Hanson
