The Department of Conservation has started to pump water at the new Bittern
Basin Unit of B.K.Leach. This is one of the two new units of this area.

A Glossy Ibis has been identified Tuesday, Sept 6, by MDC staff on the
Bittern Basin unit. The best access to this bird today was off County Rd P
just north of Elsberry. Take P to the right off Hwy 79 as if heading to
Prairie Slough CA. Opposite the turnoff to Prairie Slough is the north
parking lot for Bittern Basin. Walk out the levee away to find the Ibis.
