Rock Bridge Memorial State Park, south of Columbia, Boone Co. A walk along the Sinkhole Trail south of the Devil's Ice Box parking lot beginning at 4:30 this afternoon produced a nice mix of resident and migrant birds. Most were foraging determinedly and were not vocalizing beyond the occasional contact note. Among birds seen were: Yellow-billed Cuckoo Eastern Wood-Pewee, Eastern Phoebe Downy, Hairy, Red-bellied Woodpecker Yellow-throated, Red-eyed Vireo Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher Black-capped Chickadee, Tufted Titmouse American Robin (many) Black-and-White Warbler Summer Tanager, Northern Cardinal In downtown Columbia, about a block north of the Providence/Broadway intersection, on a utility pole in front of Jiffy Lube sits one plastic Great-horned Owl. Wonder how long that's been there... __________________________________________________ ########################################################### * Audubon Society of Missouri's * * Wild Bird Discussion Forum * *---------------------------------------------------------* * To subscribe or unsubscribe, click here: * * https://po.missouri.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mobirds-l&A=1 * *---------------------------------------------------------* * To access the list archives, click here: * * http://po.missouri.edu/archives/mobirds-l.html * * * * To access the Audubon Society of Missouri Web * * Site: http://mobirds.org * ###########################################################
