I went out to the wetland west of town this morning before work. Yes, besides birding I do work some too! There was one Buff-breasted Sandpiper out near several other shorebirds around the main pool, or what's left of it, east of the dirt road. This is a new species for this site. Pretty good habitat right now where it was as short grass has grown up on the mudflats. Saw a few Semi-palm Plovers running around in same area. Killdeer, Least, Solitary, and Pectoral Sandpipers too. One Immature Little Blue Heron was feeding near four Ring-billed Gulls. Saw one immature Yellow-crowned Night Heron by the willows again. Several Great Blue Herons but only one Great Egret are still hanging on as the pools get smaller and smaller. Only found one Green Heron today. A flock of six Bobolinks flew over. There were several other shorebirds including three Stilt Sandpipers in the pool north of hyw 190.
