Checked on the wetland this morning. All pools continue to shrink from the dry period and the draw down. Pelicans are gone, saw four Great Egrets and sixteen GB herons, also three Green Herons and a Least Bittern. The late brood of Wood Ducks were down to eight. Saw two Am. Coots that quickly vanished into the vegetation. Lots of Killdeer running around and flock of five small shorebirds flying away. Heard an Upland Sandpiper and had a flyover Bobolink. These two species may already be starting to move from nesting areas. This was third Upland I've found around wetland areas in the last week. Several Orchard Orioles moving around, Chats and Bells Vireos singing from several locations.

 Later, Steve Kinder, Chillicothe
