Greetings -- In regards to the Swainson's Warbler -- there IS a Swainson's warbler singing at the Sanctuary -- sporadically, but it has been there for at least two weeks. I played the call when it was singing and got it closer but never got a view.

There is never a guarantee that a bird will respond to a taped call, particularly since it is moving around a large area. That does not discount or eliminate its presence. At least three of us have heard it and I don't believe any of us are complete tin ears nor were we willing to post it initially because we figured we would be doubted/dismissed, which at least one person is obviously doing. Dang man, the pessimism is ridiculous. No wonder there are those of us that don't like to post. Add myself to the list.
