Hi, Susan...
Both parents were feeding what looked like three babies this morning about 830-845am. The Thursday WGNSS group went there first, as there aren't a lot of reliable spots around right now for quick viewing of interesting birds.

We didn't see much of anything at Riverlands. River is very high. I had given up on the Prouhet Farms scissor-tailed reported over a week ago. We were two days late for the nesting Yellow-crowned Night Herons in Granite City. They appeared to have dispersed. Indian Lake and surrounding marsh looked dry and birdless when we checked. The marsh across Collinsville Rd at the corner of 203 was being bull-dozed. Several Great Egrets, Great Blues, Black-crowned Night Herons, Snowy's, Little Blues, and Pied-billed Grebes, and a couple of Wood Ducks peppered Horseshoe Lake in Illinois from the 111 side causeway.

We did not look in the Forest Park Lindell spot for that Yellow-crowned on the way back to Des Peres Park. The day was beautiful and the humidity low.

Hey to all my birding friends. I would like to know if anyone has seen the
western kingbirds at the Highway 94 Frontier IGA spot lately.

Stay cool.
