Lunch hour birding in Jasper County:
I went to Turkey Creek Water T. Facility today, 6-9-05 (Northwest of Joplin,
Jasper County).

Wood Duck - 9. Three hens had 12, 6 & 5
little critters in tow. That was fun.

100 + N. Rough-winged Swallow. I was a bit
surprised by these. It would be very interesting to know if they're
1) a breeding population that all came here for
     the insects
2) a non-breeding
3) post-breeding group
4) mixture of all of the above
5) none of the above!

Good birding, Larry H. Joplin MO.
