Ten hardy souls braved the wet early morning conditions for the SLAS bird
walk in Forest Park (Kennedy Woods) on May 14.  Forty seven species were
detected by sight and sound.

Highlights included:

Wild Turkey - 1 right at the trail head
Wilson's Warblers - 3
Blackpoll Warblers - 4
Magnolia Warbler - 2
Veery
Swainsons' Thrushes - too many to count
Eastern Wood Pewee
Ovenbirds - 4
Chestnut-sided Warblers - 5 maybe more
Great-Crested Flycatcher - 3 seen and more heard
Bay-breasted Warbler
Indigo Buntings - 6
Redstart 
Tennessee Warblers - many
Red-eyed Vireos - 5
Philadelphia Vireo - 1
Ruby-throated Hummingbird - 2
Cuckoo - probably black-billed
Cooper's Hawk
Red-tailed Hawk
Gray Catbird - 2
Acadian Flycatcher - 1
